Over the past few months, the need for treatment and/or a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) has become a deeply personal cause for me and my family. In support of the cause, I will be participating in Compassionate Care's two-mile ALS & MS Walk for Living on October 1, 2017. I will be walking under the name Team Broquist.
Here is the information about the walk:
Sunday, October 1, 2017 Rain or shine
Time: Check in begins at 8 a.m.
Walk begins at 10 a.m
Location: The Leonard Florence Center for Living
165 Captains Row on Admiral's Hill in Chelsea, MA
The Walk for Living is a beautiful two-mile course through Admiral's Hill to support care for individuals living with ALS and MS. Walk beneficiaries, Compassionate Care ALS and the Leonard Florence Center for Living, support the ability of individuals with ALS and MS to live as independently as possible.
Compassionate Care ALS is a non-profit organization with a mission to support people diagnosed with ALS, their families, and communities as they navigate the complexities, both physical and emotional, associated with the disease. The organization provides resources including equipment, educational workshops, Medicare/Medicaid assistance, guidance and awareness in living with ALS, care-giving, and end-of-life issues.
This amazing organization has already offered tremendous support and guidance to our family. Please consider walking with me or donating to the organization, which relies on donations to operate.
